About The Piece:

Inspired by the Big Sioux River, Down Where The River Flows, is a lyrical piece based around the nature and beauty of South Dakota. It features numerous flowing and melodic lines for all sections throughout and serves as a great tribute to the history of the Sioux River and its connection to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Commissioned by Del Hubers, in celebration of the 2024 – 2025 Brandon Valley Intermediate School 5th Grade Band and their performance at the South Dakota Bandmasters Association Conference in February of 2025.
